The student must demonstrate the ability
- to acquire and utilize the knowledge of basic principles of East Asian medicine, modes of diagnosis, and treatment strategies in the care of patients.
- collect and organize relevant data to facilitate the development of an East Asian medicine-based diagnosis.
- describe the biomedical pathophysiological process responsible for the patient’s clinical presentation.
- describe common diagnostic imaging tests such as medical radiology (X-rays), magnetic resonance imaging tests (MRI), computed tomography scans (CT), and ultrasound.
- interpret objective and subjective data from the assessment of the patient and relevant reported findings from laboratory or diagnostic imaging tests to formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan pursuant to East Asian medicine principles and theory.
- explain the fundamental theory underlying the application of East Asian medical
bodywork. - utilize East Asian medical bodywork techniques and theory to treat conditions such as
acute pain, chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions, and internal conditions. - integrate East Asian medical bodywork techniques and principles into an East Asian
medicine-based treatment plan.
